Tēnā koutou katoa,
Wow, hasn’t the weather had an impact on us all recently? Thank you to the Horowhenua District Council for keeping us in the loop with the water issue, we are pleased to be able to remain open and have safe water to use and drink.
Last week saw our 3-way-conferences, with an overall turnout of 76%. This is good, but we are aiming for better, so if you still want to catch up with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office and make an appointment.
We are in the last two weeks of term and classrooms remain busy, energetic and full of activities.
As we look toward Term 3, you can expect the same. We have two new staff joining us. Mrs Ruth Walden will be the teacher in the new entrant class (Room 8), starting next week. Mr Shaun Lane will also be joining us in Term 3, as he prepares to take on the Room 13 teaching and Kōhuri leadership role in Term 4. We are excited by both appointments and look forward to them adding to the Levin East mahi.
We are also excited to congratulate Mrs Raue on the birth of her baby boy. Zoe and Myles’ new addition to the family arrived on Sunday afternoon. All are well. Congratulations Zoe and Myles.
To close this blog post, I would like to thank our sports coaches, managers and supporters. We have many teams out representing us, and your support is critical in ensuring they are on the courts and fields. Whānau, if your child is in a team, please support our coaches and managers by having them at training and in time to games – a team sport needs everybody, every week. Good luck to our Interschool Swimming squad in their races tomorrow.
Have a great week folks.
