Principal’s Pen 2021 Week 1 Term 4

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Wow, Term 4 already, and it is shaping up to be a Term 4 like we have never had before.  It is just over 8 weeks long and that is a challenge in itself.  A significant factor will be the impact of the Covid Alert levels.  These have already forced us to change what we do and many things have had to be changed or cancelled, and this will continue.

Sadly we have had our Scholastic Book Fair, Junior Touch, Jandal Jam, and te Ahurei already cancelled.  We have had to make changes to other events as well.  Our cross country will be run “in an empty stadium” – unfortunately we will not be able to have any spectators.

We are also looking at how other events such as prize givings, trips etc may proceed (if they are possible), so please keep an eye on all the methods we use to communicate, Hero, Facebook, school app and newsletters as change happens quickly.

On a more exciting note, you may notice that the old senior playground has been removed and the ground prepared for the installation of the new playground.  EXCITING!!  This will happen in a month or so as all the product is in Auckland and installations have been pushed out by Covid lockdowns.

A couple of reminders to finish…

Term 4 is a sun hats term.  We provide hats for all children.  It’s great for them to see adults role modelling this.

If children arrive at school before 8:30am, they are to sit on the hall steps until the 8:30 bell.

It’s only day 2 of the term and it is so busy, just how we like it!

 Have a great day.

Ngā mihi mahana

(Tumuaki / Principal)

Reminders
