Principal's Welcome

Kia ora e te whānau,

Ko Remutaka te pai maunga e whakamaru ana i ahau
Ko Te Awakairangi te awa e whakaora ana i ahau
No Koraunui ahau, engari kei Bunnythorpe ki Manawatū ahau e noho ana
Ko Whaea Sarah ahau
Ko au te tumuaki o Te Kura o Taitoko ki te Rawhiti

If you haven’t met me yet, I am Whaea Sarah and I am your new principal. We have such happy tamariki and staff at Levin East School and I have really enjoyed my first few weeks here. It has been lovely meeting some of you and I look forward to getting to know more of you over time.

We have had a few problems with our newsletter site so we have had to send messages through Hero over the last few weeks. However, it is great to be back up and running with newsletters again today!

This week is Family Focus week for our staff. We hold Family Focus weeks in Week 5 of every term. This means our staff leave school by around 4pm each day so they can spend some time with their families. We don’t plan any of our usual meetings and we encourage our teachers to leave their work at school at the end of the day.

Learning is well underway at school. We have lots of fun learning activities on the go every day so we encourage you to ensure your children are at school each morning before the 9am bell so they can play with their friends and then settle into their learning.

Ngā mihi mahana,

Sarah McCord
Tumuaki
Congratulations to our Duffy Book winners who were caught caught demonstrating our school value of respect / whakaute. Way to go!

Teacher Kete Sharing

We are a fruit in schools school and we are looking for 4 wonderful volunteers for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fri to help sort the fruit ready for delivery to our classes. This is done before the start of the school day in the hall kitchen. If you would like to help please pop into the office and let us know.
